If you could give just one piece of advice to someone starting out in this discipline, what would it be?
Make contact in front. Almost every other problem is downstream.
What was the biggest challenge you faced in your career, and how did you overcome it?
A year of competing scared. I started filming myself so the story had evidence.
What is the most important “Never do this…” rule in your discipline?
Never change three technical cues in the same week.
Who inspired or mentored you, and what did you learn from them?
A clay-court coach who only asked “where was the extra ball?”
What is the biggest discovery you wish you had known on day one?
Fitness without a tennis shape is decoration.
What do outsiders consistently misunderstand about your discipline?
That talent is visible early. Patterns are visible early. Talent is argued later.
What decision looked small at the time but changed everything?
Moving my training to mornings before excuses arrive.
What skill outside your discipline has contributed most to your success?
Music practice. Repetition with attention, not repetition with numbness.
What belief did you hold when you started that you no longer believe today?
That more hours automatically meant better tennis.
When your career is remembered, what do you hope people say you stood for?
That she treated a point as a craft, not a personality test.
